The Dead Sea is a salt water lake in West Asia, between Israel and Jordan. The most astounding feature of this lake is that it is extremely saline – salinity levels are around 30% - 35% while in oceans the salinity levels are about 3%-4%.
The high salinity levels mean that the Sea is virtually “Dead” in all forms of life. There are no aquatic creatures present like fish and aquatic plants are absent as well. Moreover, boats too cannot sail in these waters due to the high salinity.
Another amazing feature about this place is that it is around 400m below sea level. In fact, it is one of the most low-lying land areas of the world.
The unique location of this sea along with the weather provides some of the most ideal weather conditions:

- It has a weakened Ultraviolet radiation.
- It has high oxygen content because of the high barometric pressure.
