Corn Spinach Cheese Sandwich

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Too much of this heat is bothering you and you feel that you have lost appetite; or that nothing seems appealing to your tastebuds. Eh! Don’t forget us buddy.

Here we are this weekend with a nutritious, stomach filling and a quick to prepare recipe for which we usually pay a high price outside. And that is - the very popular Corn Spinach Cheese Sandwich!

For this, all you require is ½ a bunch of spinach which has to be finely chopped. And to that, add ½ a cup of sweet corn.

We are already almost half way through the recipe. Now take 2 slices of brown bread, apply butter to it, (chutney, if desired) and place this mixture of corn and spinach onto one slice and then place a slice of cheese on top of it. Cover it with the other slice of bread. Toast it. Enjoy the sandwich with sauce/ chutney.

If you don’t want to toast it, then boil the finely chopped spinach and the corn for a while in little water. And then place it on the brown bread and relish the fun.

Also rather than toasting it, if you wish, you can place the sandwich as is for a while in microwave, so that your sandwich turns out to be cheesy and cooked.

Now, isn’t it worth the time?

Did You Know ?

An average slice of packaged bread contains only 1 gram of fat and 75 to 80 calories.

Assuming a sandwich was eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it would take 168 days to eat the amount of bread produced from one bushel of wheat. A family of four could live 10 years off the bread produced by one acre of wheat.

Breaking bread is a universal sign of peace. Bread is probably the one food eaten by people of every race, culture and religion.

In Britain, the ceremony of First Footing is traditionally observed in the early hours of New Year's Day. A piece of bread is left outside a door, with a piece of coal and a silver coin, and is supposed to bring you food, warmth and riches in the year ahead.

Murphy's Law dictates that buttered bread will always land buttered-side down.

Legend has it that whoever eats the last piece of bread has to kiss the cook.
